Chi-X Europe believes that the participants who trade on the market should be the ones who own the market. Chi-X Europe is owned by a consortium of major global financial institutions including BNP Paribas, Citadel, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Fortis, GETCO Europe Ltd, Goldman Sachs, Instinet Holdings, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Optiver, Société Genérale and UBS.

Chi-X Europe is an independent company with no corporate or commercial links with Chi-X Global. The two companies trade using a common logo (i.e. Chi-X) as, when established, they were subsidiaries of the same parent company, Instinet Europe. However, more recently, the shareholding structure of Chi-X Europe has significantly changed and now Chi-X Europe is a fully independent company.
