John Woodman

Chairman, Chi-X Europe Limited

John Woodman is Chairman of Chi-X Europe and a member of the FSA's Regulatory Decisions Committee. Prior to his appointment as Chairman in May 2010, John was a non-executive Director of Chi-X Europe Ltd providing senior management and strategy counsel for the growth of the first and largest pan-European MTF.  Previously John was Managing Director at UBS, where he worked for 17 years, most recently as COO of the investment bank's European equity business, the global equity transaction processing systems and the administration of the client management process. He was subsequently COO of Knight Securities' European business and then a founder of Efficient Frontiers, a consultancy firm specialising in capital markets.

He is a past chairman of the London Stock Exchange's equity rules committee and a past member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland Research Committee. He is currently chairman of APCIMS ' EU and International regulatory committee.

He is also chair of Berwick Citizens Advice Bureau, a trustee of the Institute of Accountants of England and Wales pension fund and two charities in Northumberland.
