Chi-X Europe is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Java Trading Developer/Systems Architect

Working as part of the development team within the Technology group, the ideal candidate would have a solid work history demonstrating experience of delivering and implementing quality software systems.  Key responsibilities would be system architecture and design for client connectivity and order matching for a high frequency trading engine.  Technical analysis/troubleshooting and third level support as and when required.  The ideal candidate would be degree educated, able to work well under pressure with solid analytical skills.  The candidate will also have strong experience in JAVA (primary) and C++ and real-time ultra-high volume transaction processing.  A good understanding and strong knowledge of Windows development, DBMS, Network (TC/IP), Linux/Unix, FIX protocol and working experience with Perl.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the surveillance area of the leading pan-European stock exchange at a time of significant regulatory change and a transforming exchange landscape.  By joining a highly experienced and achievement-led team, the applicant will be making an active contribution towards combating market abuse across Europe and will have the chance to develop key skills within the overall market supervision area.  This will include some exposure to real-time monitoring and building a comprehensive understanding of the electronic trading environment.  The successful candidate will regularly interact with various internal and external contacts, including the technology team and senior management at Chi-X Europe, market participants and external regulators.
