Chi-X is the new pan-European equities Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF)

Chi-X Europe Limited (Chi-X) has received recognition as a Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and is passported to provide services to firms throughout the European Economic Area. Chi-X is recorded in the FSA register of regulated firms (http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/) under firm number 449 481.

Established in response to clients' demands for a faster, cheaper and higher capacity alternative to trading on-exchange, Chi-X is the first order driven pan-European matching engine and central limit order book or Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF).

Chi-X is up to ten times faster * and up to ten times cheaper than trading equities on the traditional equity exchanges * measured by Transact Tools (click here for press release)

Live trading in European equities started on 30 March 2007.
